The Mailing List and Message Board are separate, but similar facilities. The Mailing List allows the exchange of messages between those who are currently subscribed to it. It is more suited to those actively tracing their family history in Clinton County.

The Message Board is like a bulletin board where you can post messages that anyone can see. Here you could post a query that might be answered weeks or even years later when a new researcher happens upon your message.

Messages posted on the Message Board are also sent as regular messages to the Mailing List. Likewise, you can search the Mailing List archive as if it were a Message Board.
